The story of seventeen month old Wisam who recently received life-saving treatment at the Wolfson Medical Center has gained media attention in Israel and overseas.

In June he and his father left their home town of Sinjar to travel to Israel for Wisam’s treatment. Like the rest of Israel, they too were affected by this summer’s conflict and had to run for shelter when sirens have blared. Events became more frightening when ISIS captured their home town. Their family, including Wisam’s new born twin siblings, older sister and mother fled fearing for their lives for a few days, Wisam’s father was unable to contact them.

The family is safe and Wisam’s surgery went well.
